ISAAC WE SHALL GREATLY MISS YOU





FARE THEE WELL "THE CONQUEROR"


Having been the best student in Uganda in the 1979 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Isaac David Mpoza got the nickname "the conqueror".

May the good Lord grant his soul eternal rest.

 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden death of one of our beloved ACCA members Isaac David Mpoza FCCA who passed away at Rubaga Hospital August 19, 2016.
Isaac had been the Director, Debt and Cash Management at the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Dev't.
We will greatly miss him and always remember him for his enormous passion for the profession

ISAAC MPOZA’S PROFILE

Mpoza Isaac David FCCA CPA (U) CGEIT BCOM MSC

The Ministry of Finance lost one of the top brains in Isaac David Mpoza. Mpoza who was acting Commissioner Treasury Services Department in Accountant General’s Office under the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development was pronounced dead on Friday.
The sad email circulating at the ministry had many workers shocked at the sad developments.
Mpoza was charged with managing Public Debt and Asset management on top of working as the Project Manager for the Oracle e business suite which handles the integrated management information system (IFMS) through which government pays its workers and suppliers. He has been in charge since 2005.
Previously Mpoza had worked as a Head of Accounts in several Government Ministries and Agencies.
He was a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Certified Public Accountant of Uganda.
Mpoza was holder of a Master degree in Project Planning and Development Studies from Bradford University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Makerere University.

In addition Isaac was Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT and a member of the Information System Audit and Control Association. 
He had over 20 years’ experience in Project Management and Public Sector Accounting within the Education, Agriculture, Health, Justice Law and Order Sectors. He has also trained in and practiced World Bank and African Development Bank Procurement and Disbursement procedures.
He has also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Management and Application of Information Technology in Accounting (Dublin City University-1995), Certificate in Business Continuity Planning and Risk Management (MIS - 2006), Diploma in the Procurement of information systems in World Bank funded Projects (ILO Turin-2008) and Super user in Navision Financials (Vega Software -1995 and Carl Bro - 2000).
He was an Old Boy of St Mary’s College, Kisubi, and was an inspiration to many at the Finance Ministry.
He was known for being prompt and executing his assignments with the highest level of professionalism.
Mpoza was always on top of his class at Mugwanya Preparatory School, Kabojja and St. Savio Junior School, Kisubi.



It’s a sad Sunday, August 21, 2016 as tens of thousands paid last respects to our fallen comrade Isaac David Mpoza former Head of Cash and Public Debt Directorate at the Ministry of Finance. Grief weighed heavily upon family and friends as his body is being laid to rest at his ancestral burial grounds at Rusalira, Sembabule. He will be remembered for his honesty, generosity, patriotism, and humility. GOODBYE my friend, we will certainly meet some day. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.

I happened to write a communication about the passing on of Rotarian Isaac David Mpoza to some members of SMACK Community. Below are some responses:

The loss of Mr. Mpoza is very big to all of us. To me Isaac was a true friend who never passed without finding how you are. He always cared for all.
To the family we deeply say sorry, and it is only God who can heal the wound left by our brother.

On Saturday 24th September 2016, the heir of Isaac David Mpoza was shown to the people who turned for the funeral rites in Masaka. Malcolm a student at Uganda Christian University is heir. The function among others was attended by the Katokiiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga an Old Boy of SMACK.
